Density Task Sheet

Description

This is a task sheet I created on canva for my 2nd years. We covered one class on density previous to this class. Students had to select 12 materials (including liquids) from the top of the lab and find the mass, volume and then calculate the density of each item.

I told students to measure the density of water first as that would be the clue for the last column. By the end of class students were drawing their own conclusions that if the item was less dense it floated in water and more dense it sank.

It was an activity that worked really well and also a great recap of measurement.
