Description
A 27 slide power point complete to teach BW6 – Examining the role of microorganisms in human health. This PowerPoint is very interactive, it starts with a SLSS graphic organizer to assess students prior knowledge of microbes. It has a video embedded to outline the role of all microbes. I get students to draw three boxes and label them bacteria, fungi and viruses and get them to bullet point information they get from the video.
Also included is slides adapted from STEMlearning that gets students debating the role of microbes and “talking heads” activities that assess for understanding and provides great classroom discussion and allows misconceptions to be addressed.
Graphs are included with questions to get students interpreting data linking to the nature of science.
Success criteria are included on the final slide.
There is a worksheet included for a lab activity to view bacteria present in actimel drink under the microscope.
A revision worksheet is also included.
