How to revise History effectively
1. Active recall: Try to answer a question without looking at your notes. Reveal the answer only afterwards.
2. Space your practice: Revisit difficult information after a day, three days and a week.
3. Use sources: Ask who created each source, when it was created, what it shows and what it cannot tell us.
4. Build chronological understanding: Arrange events and explain what changed and why.
5. Explain in full sentences: Use precise historical words and examples.
6. Check your understanding: Complete short-answer questions, then correct mistakes against the answer key.
